Browser Defender toolbar by ThreatExpert is an application that provides users with security ratings of websites on the Internet.
Browser Defender uses three ratings: green, red, and yellow to inform users if a website is safe or not.
A green rating means the website is safe to visit, a red rating mean the website is unsafe, and a yellow rating signifies that the website should be visited with caution.
In case you don’t need Browser Defender, then you can easily remove this application.
How to uninstall Browser Defender
The easiest way to uninstall Browser Defender is through the Windows built-in uninstaller tool, Add or Remove Programs.
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Programs and Features.
- Locate and select Browser Defender in the Currently installed programs list, and then click Uninstall.
- If User Account Control dialog box appears, click Yes.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation.

Step 3 – Remove Browser Defender folders
Open Windows Explorer and delete the following folders:
c:\program files\browser defender
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Browser Defender
Step 4 – Remove Browser Defender registry entries
Important: Make a registry backup before editing it, as this will allow you to restore the registry to its last working state if anything goes wrong. You may back up the registry manually or with the help of a third-party registry maintenance software, such as RegGenie.
Open the Registry Editor window (to do this run the regedit command), locate and delete the following registry entries and values:
