How to Uninstall DriverCure

What is DriverCure?

DriverCure is software that helps keep device drivers up to date.  When installed, this software checks all the device drivers on your PC and gets updates from relevant sites. You can adjust the settings in order for the software to send emails for the required updates, thus eliminating any hassle pertaining to driver updates.

How to uninstall DriverCure

DriverCure installs itself into the core of the OS, so it is not very easy to uninstall all the files from the system. You can employ these methods to uninstall this software –

  1. System Restore and Windows Uninstaller
  2. Windows Installer Cleanup and Manual Removal
  3. Third Party Removal Software

System Restore and Windows Uninstaller– Windows has a feature called System Restore which keeps a snapshot of the registry. Once this feature is run, it provides a list of dates with registry backups, and once a date is chosen, the registry of that date is applied and overwritten over the current registry. In this way, all registry entries related to DriverCure are removed. To run this feature, use these steps –

  1. Go to All programs
  2. Browse to Accessories and click on System tools
  3. Click on the System restore option and choose a date prior to the installation of DriverCure
  4. Click Next after selecting the date

Once the settings are applied, it will restart the system; after this, run Windows Uninstaller. Windows has an uninstaller in all versions of its OS, which can be used to remove installed programs from the system. Follow these steps to remove DriverCure using the uninstaller –

  1. Close All programs
  2. Go to Control Panel
  3. Click on Add or Remove Programs in Win XP or Program and Features in Win Vista
  4. Select DriverCure from the list and choose Change/Remove or uninstall and click Yes
  5. Restart the system

This will remove all folders and files related to DriverCure software from the system.

Windows Installer Cleanup and Manual Removal– You can download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup from the Microsoft website. Once installed, double click on it and follow these steps

  1. From the list of installed programs, choose DriverCure
  2. Click on the Remove button
  3. Close Windows Installer Cleanup

This will remove most of the registry entries related to DriverCure from the system. Now we have to manually remove some of the files and registry entries from the system. Use these steps to achieve this –

  1. Browse to the following folders and delete the DriverCure folder:
  2. C:\Program Files\Paretologic\DriverCure
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\ParetoLogic\DriverCure

  3. Close all the windows and then Click on Start and then Run
  4. Type regedit and click on OK
  5. Browse to these registry key and delete all the entries under DriverCure: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\paretologic\drivercure
  6. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\paretologic\paretologic uus2\preset\drivercure\appexe
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\paretologic\paretologic uus2\preset\drivercure\pid
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\uninstall\{1e0d8f69-a6ab-4934-9b2d-159d9f97ba4a}
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\paretologic\paretologic uus2\preset\drivercure

    Browse to these keys and delete them –
