How to Uninstall LogMeIn

LogMeIn is a program that allows you to remotely access computers over the internet. In case you want to uninstall the LogMeIn software, then you can easily remove it via the Windows built-in uninstaller, Add or Remove Programs.

To easy uninstall LogMeIn, use the Add or Remove Programs utility.

For Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  3. Locate and select LogMeIn.
  4. Click Remove.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
  6. Restart Windows.

For Windows 7/Vista

  1. Click the Windows button.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Click Programs and Features.
  4. Locate and select LogMeIn in the currently installed programs list.
  5. Click Uninstall.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

In some cases, you may be unable to uninstall LogMeIn using the Add or Remove Programs utility. This generally happens when the program is only partially installed or when some of its files are damaged.

In case you are unable to uninstall LogMeIn via Add or Remove Programs, you may use either of the following methods to uninstall the program.

Method 1 – Manually uninstall LogMeIn

To uninstall LogMeIn manually, you need to complete the following tasks:

Task 1 – Terminate LogMeIn Processes

  1. Press Ctrl+Shft+Esc.
  2. Click the Processes tab.
  3. Locate and terminate the following processes:
  • logmeinsystray.exe
  • logmein.exe
  • ra16app.exe
  • raabout.exe
  • ramaint.exe
  • rainst.exe
  • ra_sc.exe
  • ra_reboot.exe
  • openssl.exe
  • zip.exe

Task 2 – Unregister LogMeIn Dynamic Library Files

  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, type run in the Start Search box and then press enter.

  3. Type the following command in the Open box, regsvr32 /u [Dllfilename] and press OK. Replace [Dllfilename] with the following:

Task 3 – Delete LogMeIn Registry Entries

Important: The steps mentioned below require you to edit the registry. Only proceed if you are comfortable editing the registry and back it up before making any changes to it. You may back up the registry manually or use reliable registry software such as RegGenie for this purpose.

Log in to your Windows computer with administrative rights and perform the following steps:

  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, type run in the Start Search box and then press enter.

  3. Type regedit, and then click OK to open Registry Editor.
  4. Locate and delete the following registry entries

Method 2 – Forcefully uninstall LogMeIn using Perfect Uninstaller

Another method to remove LogMeIn in such a situation is to forcefully uninstall the software using Perfect Uninstaller, which is a top-rated Windows uninstaller tool.
