MusicMatch Jukebox is an audio player used for managing a digital audio library. Besides having common features associated with a jukebox software, MusicMatch Jukebox also offers features such as internet radio, CD playback and ripping software, and an online music store.
Originally, MusicMatch Jukebox was developed by MusicMatch, which was later acquired by Yahoo!
If MusicMatch Jukebox is installed on your computer but you don’t need it, you can easily uninstall the software using Windows Add or Remove Programs.
How to uninstall MusicMatch Jukebox:
For Windows XP
- Click the Start menu, click Settings, and then click Control Panel to open its corresponding window.
- Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- In the Currently installed programs list, locate and select MusicMatch Jukebox.
- Click Remove.
- Restart your computer.
For Windows 7/Vista
- Click the Windows button in your taskbar.
- Click Control Panel.
- Click Programs and Features.
- In the Currently installed programs list, locate and select MusicMatch Jukebox.
- Click Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
If you are using an older version of MusicMatch Jukebox and not a Yahoo! sponsored version, then the above steps are all that you need to perform to completely uninstall MusicMatch Jukebox.
However, if you are using the Yahoo! sponsored version of MusicMatch Jukebox, then you must perform an additional step, which is discussed below to completely remove the software from your Windows computer.
Remove mim.exe and mimboot.exe entries in your Windows registry
Note: The steps listed in this section require you to edit the registry. It is recommended that you proceed only if you are comfortable making registry changes. Make sure that you back up the registry before editing it so that you can restore the registry to its last working state in case any complications occur. You may back up the registry manually or with the help of a reliable Windows registry maintenance utility such as RegGenie.
- Click Start and then click Run to open its corresponding dialog box.
- Type regedit, and then press Enter to open Registry Editor.
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
- In the right-pane of the Registry Editor window, right-click the value with the name MimBoot.
- Next, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MusicMatch\MusicMatch Jukebox\4.0\MainApp
- In the right-pane, right-click the value with the name ShutDownMIM and then click Modify.
- In the Edit String dialog box, under the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK to save your changes.
- Close Registry Editor.
If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, then type run in the Start Search box and press enter to launch its dialog box.
